I was surprised to find any model railway shops in Thailand, but I know of at least two. This one is centrally located, being on Silom Rd and easily reachable via the Bangkok MRT underground at Silom Station or via the Bangkok BTS Skytrain at Sala Daeng Station, which is just next to this shop.
The shop is located on the fourth floor of a non-descript shopping mall, of which there are many in Bangkok, and one could be forgiven upon entry for thinking they had gone to the wrong place. The mall is perhaps 50% golf shops. Great if you like golf and trains! Anyhow, continue up to the fourth floor and you will find this little gem of a shop.
The owner, Mr Thipayarat, was most friendly on my visit and seemed to appreciate overseas visitors coming in to have a look. I didn’t buy anything on the occasion I was there, but the shop is well stocked with Japanese models (Kato / Tomix and some nice bullet trains), track from Kato as well as Peco, and a great deal of scenic paraphernalia. Kato have this shop listed as their dealer for Thailand and their range of Kato track was impressive.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and the owner is most welcoming, making an effort to speak to you in English. Even if you do not buy anything, the display cabinets are well laid out if you wish to admire the trains on display. According to their business card they are closed on Mondays.
