Class 25/33: Step 10 – Baseplate Fitting

  • Take the black plastic and brass base plate and place it under the chassis so that the chassis “armature frame” positions into the base plate longitudinal slots, as per picture 1. Make sure you have the base plate the correct way around, so that the brass brush holder is under the commutator – this is very important!
  • As shown in picture 2, slot the nuts into the side indentures in the chassis and then slot the screws in.
  • Screw in each screw so that it threads onto its respective nut by holding the nut flat in its cavity and then tighten – do not over tighten or it can distort the plastic plate and impinge free running.
